The scene comes back in with a shot that's mostly to be expected of a cameraman. The cameraman has his camera shot centered on the backside of a woman walking. As it slowly pulls out and up we can see who it is and where she is. Era Dynamics is walking around backstage at the arena. She's smiling, wearing her black bikini shirt that wrapped around her neck, and green bikini bottoms, along with green knee high fish net stocking and black boots just under her knee. On her hip is hung her mojo bag and it taps her hip gently as she strolls through the halls. As she walks, people look at her like she doesn't belong, but she ignores all of the stares and whispered comments. She stops by the refreshment table to grabs a couple of bottles of water and a few slices of melon and when she does, everyone is pointing and staring and whispering. They back away from her slowly like she has the plague which makes her smile wickedly. This makes everyone back up even further. When she turns around, she hisses like a cat and everyone jumps reflexively and she laughs and shakes her head. She continues on through the halls to the locker room of her friend and managerial client, the Archetype Wrestling's newest wrestler, Jack Johnson. As she opens the door, she sees Jack Johnson sitting on couch, slowly wrapping her knuckles in padding and black tape. Dynamics walks over and sets a bottle of water down on thd coffee table in front of her and begins to munch on a slice of melon. She chews silently watching Jack Johnson's methodic and slow wrapping of each knuckle, moving in an almost trancelike slowness. Era swallows and shakes her head.
-
jack Johnson: Look E, I know you hate putting on the padding, but it's for the safety of your opponents. Sometimes you tend to over do things, and if you don't pad certain parts of your body... Well, you know what happens.
-
Jack Johnson continues the slow wrapping of her knuckles and flexes her fingers to make sure it's wrapped properly.
-
Era Dynamics: Jack please don't lecture me on my opponent's safety right now. I could care less about their safety. I do this because you say it's necessary. No other reason besides that. If you didn't say that it was needed, then I wouldn't do it. Do you really think that me pulling my punches on padding my knuckles, knees, and elbows will actually keep them SAFE when they step into the ring with me? It may stop them from getting more than a couple of bruises... But you and I both know waht I'm like in the ring. You trained with me for how long? And you truly think that a few extra inches of cotton will stop me from hurting the people I step in the ring against? Jack, I think you need to see the bigger picture.
-
Era Dynamics shakes her head and bites her melon again.
-
Jack Johnson: Era you have to watch yourself. Doing what you did in your last match... attacking your opponent after the match was over... That kind of stuff can get you fined or worse.
-
Jack continues to slowly wrap her knuckles and shakes his head.
-
Era Dynamics: I'm not worried about fines. All I want is some competition. I want a true warrior to step into the ring against me. I want someone who's going to step up to the plate and lay everything down on the line against me. I'm hoping that my next opponent will be more fun than Alexander Ritter. I'm hoping that when I next step into the ring, I will be able to show all of my skill and not have my match cut short by some stupid count out.
-
Jack shakes his head and frowns.
-
jack Johnson: Girl, you gotta snap out of this and realize... This ain't the little training feds you were in, this ain't those damn fight clubs that you know I despised you being in, and this ain't like when you were back in college... This is the big time baby. We're in the world of professional wrestling now, and there are RULES you have to follow around here.
-
Era looks up at Johnson with a gleam in her eye that can only be classified as determination with a splash of evil to boot.
-
Era Dynamics: Don't you think I know that Jack? Don't you think that when I look around at this place, I see so much potential for what I can do around here? Hell, I know to them I'm a newbie. I know to the folks like Adam Nedman and "The Archangel" Raven Wolf and Chris "Action" Jackson all I am is some punk upstart trying to make a name for myself. To them, I'm probably not even a blip on their radar, but I'm going to change their way of thinking. I'm not just a blip, I'm a *&^&*&^ nuclear missile ready to blow their little minds out of the water! And if that means that at first I've gotta bend a few rules and &*^% a few people off in order to make my presence felt in this company then that's just what in the hell I'm gonna do.
-
Jack Johnson lowers his face from his friend's hand continues to wrap her knuckles slowly and methodically.
-
Era Dynamics: You know how I feel about wrestling. It's what I've wanted to do since I was eight freakin' years old. But you KNOW I'm not some pinup girl for men to oggle and fantasize about. I've fought against being that for my entire freakin' life!! All my mom wanted me to be was the poster child for normalcy and I've went the opposite way ever since. She hated that I wasn't blonde. She hated that I despised the color pink and used to try to put me in pink every day. I still shudder everytime I see a little girl in a sailor suit. She sent me to an all girl's private school for elementary and middle school thinking I could learn refinement and manners, not even BOTHERING to see if I already knew anything about it, just because I preferred to wear black jeans and a cutoff tank than a dress skirt and some blouse. I've always been different and proud of it. And that difference is shown in my style. I didn't study ten years in various dojos, learning three different styles of martial arts just to lounge around in a bikini so some man can snap pictures of me. I didn't spend the last two years of my life training to step into a ring just to be the backstage whore and sleep my way to a title shot. I'm not here to make friends. If it happens, then it happens, but that's not what I'm here to do. But what I am here to do is... I'm here to wrestle. I'm not here to protect these flimsy little things, I'm here to lay a large amount of hurt on them and pin them for the one, the two, and the three.
-
Johnson bites off the end of the tape and rubs her one hand slowly, making sure it's even and well done, flexing her fingers slowly.[/i]
-
Era Dynamics: And if these chicks backstage can't handle it, then tough titties for them. You see... Alexander Ritter was step one. Travis Touchdown will be step two. I'm gonna kick it up a notch. A very BIG notch against him. I'm gonna make sure he knows exactly who I am and what I'm capable of. I'm gonna open his eyes wide to the sheer pain of stepping into the ring against me. I'm going to make him scream and beg for mercy. And I'm going to enjoy doing it too. I'm going to open travis Touchdown's pretty little eyes to the fact that being a hot looking guy ain't gonna protect him in this cold cruel world. I'm gonna show him what pain feels like when it's dealt out by a master. I'm going to show him what it feels like to step in the ring with a cold, calculating, highly intelligent, hell bent bitch whose one desire is to make him squeal like a pig and see the tears come flowing from his eyes while he will lose his title.
-
Era Dynamics clenches her fist and her eyes slowly turn from their normal brown to that eery swirling blood red with the ice blue ring around the outside. Johnson sees this and pats Era on the shoulder.
-
Jack Johnson: That's all good, but... try to do it between the two sounds of the bell. And remember, you're supposed to pin them or make them submit. This isn't like in the fight clubs. You don't have to beat the person you're facing unconscious to get a win. All you have to do is get Brianna and whomever else you're facing to stay down on their back for three seconds. You don't have to lay your opponent out so the paramedics have to come and scrape them off the mat.
-
Era frowns for a moment.
-
Era Dynamics: But my way is so much more fun.
-
Jack sighs, shakes his head then grins.
-
Jack Johnson: anything else what I can do for you?
-
Era begins to pad and wrap her other hand slowly and methodically, just as Jack did with her other hand.
-
Era Dynamics: You're going to continue to manage me like the good friend and being a good manager is what you're gonna do."
-
Era nods and offers Jack a piece of melon, but Jack shakes his head. Era shrugs and chews.
-
Jack Johnson: Girl, you know I've got your back. You and me, we go together like zippers on a Michael Jackson Beat It jacket. It's just meant to be. Besides, who else is gonna try and tame your wild ass? No one else could.
-
Era laughs with an evil glint in her eye.
-
Era Dynamics: Tame me? Nah, you don't tame me. I respect you, there's a difference. I respect you and your judgement. Like with this padding thing. You know I don't want it, but I respect your opinion on things. That's why I pay you as my manager. You do the thinking I really don't want to do and you help me out when I need you.. Now why don't you stop offering me this normal stuff and go and get me a stage hand. I think I'd like a little snack before I go out to the ring.
-
Era smiles wickedly, her fangs slowly extending and licks her lips. Jackson laughs and shakes his head.
Jack Johnson: Girl, now you know you can't go eating the help. You have to just wait until the show's over and go out hunting.
-
Era growls and sits back pouting, crossing her arms across her chest.
-
Era Dynamics: But I'm hungry.
-
Era Dynamics grimaces and Jack laughs, shaking his head. Era waves and suddenly disappears, the only thing marking her departure is the door which was closed is now open. Jack Johnson walks over and closes it as the scene fades.
